As I mentioned earlier, there are quite a lot of hosting company out there. Free services and paid services. Wich one we should choose? and if we choose paid services, wich one?

Those questions are important, let’s discuss a bit about this

there several aspects that we should look into, in order to get very good hosting services. Why do we need dependable hosting? because we need our blog to be up and running all the time, and also when our blog become popular and flooded with traffic (that’s what we want, anyway), the if we use limited facility hosting, it can harm our blog perfomance (become very slow, or worst than that, our web server or database server operation could severely distorted or even down).

Eventhough for the time being, for several blogs that we make for experiments, choosing free services is more than enough, but for serious monetizing, through adsense or oyther means, good depandable hosting service is a must.

We can proceed to signed up page, and for free hosting, we will get 60MB Disk Space, Unlimited domins can be hosted, 1 pop3 e-mail, 1 free FTP account, file manager, and also No Adds … wich is quite good.

If you proceed from there, when you signed up you can choose to register a new domain (buy domain name), or host an existing domain (if you have any, or if you have bought it as described in previous post), or you can use a subdomain.

If you select to host ab existing domain, then you must set the DNSes, dns1.50webs.com and dns2.50webs.com. Confusing about DNS? don’t worry we can get back later on and it’s very easy to get info let’s proceed

For the sake of this tutorial, let’s select to use a subdomain, with name that we want homegardeningtips, then we will have homegardeningtips.50webs.com. Let’s do it!

The will ask you to fill in your data (Name, etc…etc…. standard registration stuff)

After that they will send 2 e-mail to us (to e-mail address that we assign during registration), the first e-mail is about our registration and usename/password to be use. the second mail is information to do more including beginner video tutorial.

After login we will arrive at this page :

After this, you can click add/manage newsite and proceed from there …. we will type in subdomain name that we want and then click the “create virtual host” button. Then we will proceed to get a free subdomain name (the process is just like what we have done with makewords), for our example, the homegardeningtips.50webs.com is not available, I can choose to change extension or the name, I choose to use homegardeningtips123.50webs.com, and it’s available.

After we done this step, the registration is complete, we have free web address, ready to receive contents
