Income from the internet via profitable blog can be achieve if we have a blog.

Make a profitable blog tutorial series part I about installation was concluded on my post, Easy way to make a profitable blog part 10, using fantastico and manually. Now where do we go from here? are we done? …. not yet!, lets look at our “demotutorial” blog that we have made. If we go to this URL : http://www.smartmoneymakingwebsite.com/demotutorial we will arrive at this page :

This is standard wordpress themes and template. So our blog is ready to receive contents (articles etc.). Standard supporting applications are already in place to serve us.

Our next tasks is to make this blog useful for the readers out there, with compelling articles or products that they need to solve their problems, I’ll show you how to do it in easy way.

But our first and foremost task is to modify the “look” of our Blog. Looking at picture above, we may all agree that our blog “look” is not very attractive. Just like a girl who just woke up in the morning, not yet taking a bath, or brush her teeth, or changing her clothes, … still look so “generic” ( if awful is too harsh:) ) even though she is a beautiful girl. If she keep that look and smell for a whole day long, I don’t think the boys or the cheerleaders group will pay attention.

That’s our blog situation right now, just woke up from her long sleep. So our first task is to make our blog looks and smell nice.

To do this, lets login to our blog back end at http://www.smartmoneymakingwebsite.com/demotutorial/wp-admin

and we will arrive at this page :

Now, let’s type in our username and password, and we will arrive on the back end of our blog, where we can make changes, post articles, …etc. , this is our blog back end :

Actually the back end is a bit longer than the picture above, so if you want to now more, just scroll down on the back end area (not in this picture!, in your real back end blog ).

So what do we want to do from here?, let’s change the Themes, so we can have a much better look, let’s think of themes as a clothing for our blog.

By default, our wordpress installation come with 2 themes, default and classic, both are very nice themes, but I don’t think they look pretty. So we need more themes …… more themes please!

There are many premium wordpress themes that we can buy. But are we really need to buy them? let’s take a look on free themes available from wordpress. On the backend dashboard page (you also can click dashboard at the upper lefthand part to come to this place), then click design. Under design, there four “links”, click on themes to arrive at the themes page. We can see that currently we use the default themes and only 2 themes available, so to get more themes scroll down and under the “Get More Themes” article, you can find a text link Wordpress themes directory , right click on this to open it in a new tab or new window (your choice), so we can get back to our blog’s back end/dashboard easily. Or you can simply click on that link.

We can see that there are 586 Themes Available!!! amazing!, they are free for us to download!! , feel free to browse and preview each themes, and choose the one that you like, they give us very good looking themes and also mostly are SEO friendly (We will discuss about this on our next more advanced discussion, …. advanced does not mean difficult though).

For our example I have downloaded the “green-light” themes (zipped files), then unzipped this to a folder in my laptop and then upload it to public_html/demotutorial/wp-content/themes folder, (Please take a look on my previous tutorial post on how to do this, it’s easy).

After we’ve done this, we get bak to our dashboard and then design and click themes, we will get this :

We can see that our “green light” themes is already in place, our blog ready to wear this one, let’s do it.

Click the “green Light” theme (the most left), and the “flash preview” will come up then on it’s upper right corner, click “activate this themes”, if we don’t want this themes, just close the flash preview window, and search for another themes. I’ve clicked the activate button, the result is this :

We can see that the green light themes, has become our current themes, so, now if we go to http://www.smartmoneymakingwebsite.com/demotutorial we will hav this :

VOILA! We have made our blog look pretty, and ready to go out! …… but wait there are still more to come, to make her even more pretier, and more functionality than just the look!, we will make her pretty and clever girl that have a kind heart to help others ……. , that’s the first step on our way to make Income from the internet via profitable blog
